ALLISON PALMER
Allison Palmer, MSW, Associate Executive Director at New Settlement, received her undergraduate degree from Wesleyan University and her Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University. For the past twenty years, she has supported the implementation of the goals and objectives of New Settlement, a large multi-service organization located in the Bronx. This has included designing and implementing programs to orient youth and young adults to traditional and nontraditional educational and career opportunities; supporting the management of over 200 employees (54 full-time and 166 part-time); providing oversight support of an $11,000,0000 budget; fundraising to support a rapidly growing organization; and designing and implementing New Settlement’s data and evaluation strategy to ensure quality programming and community impact. Allison served as the Bronx delegate at the National Association for College Admission Counseling for three years, co-founded the Bronx Opportunity Network and the College Success Network, and currently is a founding Board Member of Rule One and sits on the Advisory Board of the Options Institute, Degrees NYC, and College Access Research and Action (CARA).
